Camps in remote areas never fail to surprise. As we were closing in on noon, a throng of shalwar kameez clad villagers arrived from the neighboring village. They were barefoot and undeniably poor but very pleased to see the doctors’ teams and medicines being given out. Among them was also the donkey cart owner as mentioned above. We felt the dire need for doctors in the remote areas and also of follow-up camps.
Telemedicine would also be a good option in future for these areas in providing help at their doorstep.
